I've been having some kind of specific cravings, and I hope that someone out there knows of some fic that will fulfill them;

1) Anything where Dean and Castiel play a game/s of any kind. Board games are preferable, but video games and even sport will do. Preferably it would also involve them having it off, but I'll read gen happily.

2) Is there any fic where it's initially some manner of Sam/Dean, but then when Castiel comes along, Dean wants/falls for/has a crush on him? I'm happy with anything from hardcore angst and horror to fluff and crack.

I don't remember who wrote this fic or the title but I remember that it was after John died. Dean and Sam weren't speaking and Dean began noticing things being cleaned up and fixed around Bobby's house and when he asks Bobby, Bobby says that Sam's been doing it instead of sleeping, including cleaning up a carburetor that had been in the kitchen sink. When Dean scoffs at Sam doing that and joking about Sam calling AAA for any car problem, Bobby yells at him. Sam and Dean talk and make up. I also remember it being on fanfiction.net

I just got a craving to read healer fics where somebody can heal a person just by touching them.  I prefer Jared/Sam as the healer, but I'll take Jensen/Dean too.  It can be J2, wincest, or gen.  Thanks.

Hello All! So, I'm going on a roadtrip this weekend to Colorado and I need some good J2 AU recs to hold me over during a 12 hour drive. ugh. I've read a few recently and found that I really like the AU's. I prefer the longer ones, at least 4-5 parts so the story can fully develop. Longer fics are more than welcome as are self-recs. I prefer them to be on the more realistic side.

Am Looking For Two Kinds of fics,

1. It Seems that most the fics I've been reading lately have the boys cheating on eachother. So Now I want to read fics that show off their faithfulness to eachother. Like maybe fics where someone trys to come between them, but they only have eyes for eachother. Or fics where they think the other is cheating on them, but it's just a misunderstanding. So yeah any fics where Dean/Sam Or Jensen/Jared are in a faithful and committed relationship.

2. I Really Wanna read fics with the pairing Michael/Lucifer. I would also love if  Dean/Sam was in it as well!

HOW I lost this fic when it obviously affected me so much I've no idea. PLEASE HELP!

The only thing I can remember about the fic is Steve & Chris have a band. They just got a new drummer who wants to get into Jensen's pants. He tries a couple times to get him, but Jensen turns him down since he just started going out with Jared. It's not the main part of the story by far, but it's the only part of the fic I can remember and it's driving me nuts because I can't remember the title or who wrote the fic.

I know it's a long shot, but I'm hoping someone recognizes it. Thanks!

This is my grandfather William, whom I never knew, in his World War I Army Air Corps uniform:



His enlistment horrified his East Prussian mother so much that she told him, "I hope ze Kaiser vins!" (Hm, yes, I come by my lack of tact honestly. Thank you, Angelika.)

His son, my Uncle Bill, served in an artillery unit in World War II. Both my grandfather and my uncle returned from their wars, changed, but in one piece.

Tonight I'm remembering their service with gratitude, and the service of all those who come back changed, or who never see home again. May there come a day when such sacrifices are no longer necessary.

The Stone Gryphon, Part 1: Oxfordshire, 1942 (Chronicles of Narnia, gen, Peter-focus with all Pevensies appearing)

The summer of the Dawn Treader, 1942. In a time of enormous upheaval, each Pevensie begins to find a way. Meditations on theology, zoology, espionage, and rabbit holes with all Narnia Friends and OCs. Part 1 of The Stone Gryphon.

I read the first three chapters of this story this morning and then couldn't stop thinking about it all day at work. Once I got home, this was the first thing I went to and only since I've finished have I changed, appropriated some dinner, &c.

First off, the writing is absolutely gorgeous and it flows beautifully. The writing is almost more amazing that then storytelling, but I think the two are so entwined that to hold one up as better than the other would be a sham and a shame. This story takes place after Prince Caspian but before Dawn Treader and details Peter's life as Professor Digory's assistant/student at Oxford. There are a number of flashbacks to Narnia and to weeks ago in 1942 England -- talk of the war and feels genuine; Polly makes an appearance, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland is quoted many times, and, to my utter glee, there's even a reference to Julian Huxley!

The story is long -- sixteen chapters and almost 90K words -- but if you like reading Narnia fic, give it a go. (I will admit to hesitancy; Peter is not my favourite Pevensie. Still, after this, I think I like him a great deal better.)

On Saturday the 14th at 4AM UTC/GMT we will be upgrading the operating system of our network load balancers to a newer version, one that will allow us to use both CPUs! Nifty, because multiprocessing is nice.

Since we have 2 load balancers, the plan is to upgrade 1 at a time, and there really should be very little impact to our website. Hopefully you won't notice a thing and I'll get to go back to the hotel and watch some wonderful late night infomercials.

We've got a lot of exciting projects coming up for 2010 and we're hoping that we'll be able to deliver them all to you, that you will find it useful/cool/lovely and then you will use the site even more. Behind-the-scenes work like this will give us the capacity to handle the anticipated traffic, so expect a few more maintenance windows especially in the beginning of next year as we've got some neat ideas to improve performance around here! We had the recent 30-45 minute outage yesterday due to one of our logging databases filling up disk space -- not so great design coupled with my human error in handling the initial problem -- and it looks like we're going to finally have some resources to eliminate stuff like that. I can't wait!
